French Kitchens

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 Posed In :Blog   By :nadiah 4 Comments

French kitchens encompass warmth, elegance, opulence and appreciation for the art of cooking. Use the following tips to revamp your kitchen with French inspiration.

Fairly French

French culture takes time to appreciate the finer things in life. The French use natural materials, including hand-painted timber doors and stone or timber benchtops, and embellish their kitchens with decorations. Displays include cooking pots and pans, delicate light fittings, and personal items of affection.

At the heart of every French kitchen is the love of cooking and the love of food. Benchspace is a must. This ensures that the kitchen can be used as intended: to cook in.

The below images show how to get creative when designing your French kitchen.

Pretty Pastels

French kitchens favour the use of soft, subtle colours, like baby blues and antique whites.

Such beautiful kitchens! Wow, I had no idea that the french style was so versatile. I love the top “Fairly French” kitchen for a small space. It makes it feel cozy and warm and looks like it has plenty of space for the necessities.
I have to admit though, the larger kitchens are my favorite. I adore the large timber island on the bottom one of the “fairly french” section. The pretty glass cupboards are a perfect blend with the wooden countertop. It has such a warm and cozy feel.

The pretty pastels is another favorite, I’m not sure which of the two I prefer. The marble fireplace is delightful and it has such a bright natural feel.
